SEAL: Social-Emotional Artistic Learning in New Orleans Music
In this free webinar for teachers and music educators, panelists will discuss the relationship between social and emotional artistic learning (SEAL) and New Orleans music.
During this course, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to identify and enrich students’ social and emotional competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making, as they relate to the historical and contemporary music sounds of New Orleans.
This course is led by Elizabeth Peterson, teacher and founder of SEAL, and Shannon Powell, legendary drummer and Preservation Hall Foundation Master Practitioner.
