The "Pass It On" campaign is a $25 million initiative to usher in the next chapter of our legacy and secure the future of New Orleans music for generations to come.
The Allan and Sandra Jaffe Center for New Orleans Music, Art and Culture.
A New Home for an Old Tradition
At the heart of this campaign is a new home for the Foundation’s work: The Allan and Sandra Jaffe Center for New Orleans Music, Art and Culture. This new center will be located in the building adjacent to the Hall at 730 Saint Peter Street – a historic site that was once New Orleans' first theater but has sat empty for over half a century. In collaboration with top architects and contractors, the historical elements will be preserved while undergoing important infrastructural improvements and ADA accommodations – thoughtfully imbued with the patina, authenticity, and spirit of Preservation Hall.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will create a contiguous campus and a cultural institution like no other, allowing us to:
Provide interactive, flexible spaces for learning, mentorship, exhibitions, performances and more
Provide substantial full-time, part-time, and hourly employment opportunities for PH musicians
Significantly expand music education programs to accommodate more students and school group, as well as adult audiences
Create an immersive exhibition experience for visitors to explore and discover treasures from the Preservation Hall collection
Launch a Visiting-Artists-In-Residence program
The $25 million PASS IT ON campaign will fuel this transformational next chapter for the Preservation Hall Foundation, but we cannot do it without YOU.
Please Help Us PASS IT ON.
Special thanks to the Estate of Diana King and The Charles and Lucille King Family Foundation for their generous seed contribution which is making this campaign possible.
